HighlightsMy name is Yael Patiev, and my dream is to become the first Israeli woman goalie to play NCAA hockey. I currently play at the Ontario Hockey Academy, where I train daily to improve as both a goaltender and a student-athlete. My goal is to join a program that values competitiveness, discipline, and strong team culture qualities I’ve lived by since I first stepped on the ice.
What makes me a strong candidate for your team is my resilience and work ethic. Growing up in a small town near the Lebanese border, I learned early how to stay focused under pressure. That same mental toughness shows in my game: I’m calm, composed, and dedicated to continuous growth. Athletically, I take pride in my strong positioning, rebound control, and effective communication with my defense. Academically, I maintain high grades while balancing a demanding training schedule, and I’m especially interested in studying business, economics, or sports management.
I believe my journey, coming from a non-traditional hockey country and pushing toward the NCAA, reflects not only my determination but also my love for the game. I’m eager to bring my competitive mindset, leadership, and positive energy to a program that shares my drive to succeed.
