Ever since I started hockey at 5 years old, I knew it was the sport for me. Playing the game and being a part of something bigger always kept me close to the sport. Being good enough to get ice time hasn't always been easy though. I often had to sacrifice time usually spent on friends or hobbies to keep my game on point. Even now I still devote almost all of my time to school, training, and volunteering. Over time I learned that my player type wasn't the all-out MVP or goal scorer, but rather the person who is always putting their best effort to keep their team in the game. On my off days you will always find me doing something hockey related. Whether it is skating at drop-ins with Wichita alumni playing in the WSHL and beyond, giving back to young players, especially girls, by volunteering my time to activities that grow the players and the sport, or just watching NHL games with my teammates, I am devoted to growing my impact and love for ice hockey. Through my hockey experiences I hope to not only grow as a player, but as a person through being a part of the team and using my ability to gain chances to get a degree while playing. All throughout my journey I plan to keep working hard to make myself even closer to attaining my goals. Academics are the most important to me, as my grades are my greatest asset. Even then hockey is right next to my schoolwork, as it helps me in many parts of everyday life. I hope to use this opportunity to find the best college for my needs as a student athlete.
