Due to covid and a late 03 birthday, I have decided to play a gap year locally. I look forward to taking this opportunity to get stronger and better prepare myself to contribute in college. I feel it will help me contribute immediately at the college level.
For the last five years I have played in the Detroit Little Caesars Tier I Girls organization. I have been on two state championship teams and competed in the national tournament twice. During those five years I feel I have continually grown as a hockey player and a person. Being selected to attend the USA Hockey National Development Camps in 2017, 2018, and this year, has affirmed that I can play at a high level. My confidence has grown with these selections. These camps have helped me understand what it takes to play at an elite level.
I have a strong work ethic, on and off the ice. I am growing as a team leader as well. Having multiple coaches over the last several years has also helped me understand the different roles on a hockey team and how lines are put together. Having to prove myself over and over to different coaches can be seen as a plus. I flourish when I understand my role. I am very competitive in all that I do, whether its hockey, high school soccer, track, or playing UNO with the family. I always strive to be better.
A college that I chose will get a competitive athlete, a proven winner, a budding leader, and a never say die attitude. I want a college that will challenge me on the ice as well as in the classroom.
