When I was 7 years old I told my parents I wanted to play ice hockey. My mom told me that we were not a hockey family and to pick another sport. Well here I am at 16 still playing and loving hockey. The ice is the place where I feel most comfortable. I forget about my homework, my grades, my problems, my messy room and my annoying sister. Hockey is an escape for me. It is freedom, it is speed, it is strength, it is power. It is where I get to just focus on the puck, my stick and the net. I can't imagine life without hockey.
I mostly play right wing but I have also played center and even defense when needed. I love that I am a versitile player with the ability to step up for my team where I am needed most. I am fast and always looking up and down the ice for my chance to make a good play or even better, score. I play for a AAA independent club team called Ironbound out of Newark New Jersey. I have also played for the Penguins and the Rockets. My high school, Chatham High School, has recently begun a girls hockey program. We are new but fierce. This season, our team won the Morris Union Girls Ice Hockey League title where I scored the game winning goal. For my club team, I am one of the top goal scorers. We are a very close team and the friendships we have made are unshakable.
You will always find me at the rink with a smile on my face, playing music and pumping everyone up. I have a big personality with a lot of athleticism and huge love for the game. I can't imagine my life without hockey. I look forward to finding a college home to continue my passion for this awesome sport.
