I am a motivated student-athlete who is interested in playing hockey at the university/college level while working towards a degree in the sciences. I am always doing my absolute best to improve by putting in my best effort at all team practices and extra training on and off of the ice. In doing so, I feel that I have made major improvements to my capabilities as a hockey player. I am persistent and do not give up even when my team is facing adversity. I am good at managing my time and completing the task at hand as well as encouraging others to do the same in a positive way. As a hockey player, I excel in both stick handling and playmaking, but have also been among the leading scorers on recent teams.
I am a well-rounded grade 11 student who takes courses in the sciences, maths and humanities at De La Salle College "Oaklands" in Toronto. I have also taken computer courses to give myself a more broad understanding of the developing world around me. I switched schools after spending grades 9 and 10 in the strings program at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, because although I do have a deep rooted appreciation and understanding of the arts, particularly on the violin, I wanted to be able to better incorporate athletics into my life at school. I have a good relationship with my teachers and peers and often help others in and out the classroom.
I value the relationships that I have with my family and friends and want to show my gratitude for their support by doing everything I can to be successful in achieving my goals. I am part of leadership clubs like Duke of Edinburgh, and have volunteered at daycares and food banks in my area, as well as both coached and refereed soccer at a local club that I was a part of as a kid. I take opportunities at school and outside of school to better myself through clubs, work and volunteer jobs, and academic opportunities to gain experience that I can apply to my life as a hockey player, student, and person in general.
