Watching my brother play out on the ice was how I fell in love with the game, but how I became a goalie is another story. On my house league team, no one wanted to be goalie, so I decided to step up, put the pads on, and before you know it, I was in front of the net. That was when I fell in love with the position, and soon everyone started to ask me to take their turn going in the net. I then started begging my parents to help me continue to pursue this dream of mine. Now, I want to take that dream even further as I have always been a goal-oriented student-athlete. For the past few years, that goal has evolved into finding the right fit school in competing athletically and academically at the highest post-secondary level where I can give everything I’ve got!
My next big step in achieving my academic and athletic goals was enrolling at Everest Academy and their professional-style hockey training. Having the ability to experience similar aspects of life as a competitive post-secondary athlete allows me to understand more about the competitiveness I want to continue facing. As a detail-oriented student, I view my academic career just as highly as my athletic career. I understand my aspirations in creating a well-rounded career path for myself through post-secondary school. While I'm driven by inner competitiveness, I also possess and believe in having good time management skills, leadership skills, and a team-first mentality are all vital to taking my next steps in growing as an athlete.
