My name is Alex Young, I hold dual citizenship to both the United States and Canada.
I am a 2006 and just graduated as part of the 2024 class and I'm in my post grad year with the 19U AAA Connecticut Junior Rangers (Tier 1).
Ever since I was three years old I’ve dreamed of being a hockey player. As soon as I put on the pads I knew that I would want to be a goalie. I have worked incredibly hard since then to ensure that I will reach my dream of becoming just that. Playing at the collegiate level is an incredible opportunity that only a select number of people get the pleasure of playing. Ever since I watched my first collegiate hockey game I knew that collegiate hockey would be an amazing opportunity for me.
I am a goaltender who competes on every puck and never gives up on any play. I use my understanding of the game to my advantage and read plays effectively. I am a strong competitor and use my movement, technique and hands to successfully control rebounds.
Playing at the collegiate level would be a dream come true and I believe my work ethic, ability to adapt, ability to be coached and academics make me a good candidate for a collegiate program and will continue to help me succeed at the professional level. I wish to attend a college where I will be pushed academically and athletically, and where I can play hockey at the most competitive level possible. I aspire to be both a leader on and off the ice for my peers and teammates and an athlete that my team and coaches can depend on.
