Ellen Svane '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ellen Svane, born on August 8,2000. I live and play hockey in my hometown Thunder Bay, Ontario. I stand at 5'9" without skates and weigh approximate 145 pounds. I am a well-rounded student who is respectful and outgoing with all family, team-mates, coaches, and teachers. My position as a right-handed defencemen whose developed the ability to rush the puck successfully, my powerful strides and long reach make it a challenge for my opponent to stop me. I am currently looking for an opportunity to play the sport I love while also pursuing with my academics. One of my biggest strengths as an elite hockey player who is on the ice 5-6 times a week while having off-ice sessions 2-3 times a week let alone the endless hours spent at the gym trying to better myself, I am able to stay on top of eight academic classes this school term while competing in extra-curricular school sports. In the fall of 2017 I will be a grade 12 student at Westgate Collegiate & Vocational Institute. In the upcoming season of 2017-2018 I will be playing for the Thunder Bay Midget AA Queens who is apart of the OWHA, my head coach for the season is Bill Nicholl (c-807-624-7027).  In the past years I have competed in competitive showcases such as Rush, and the Ontario Winter Games. This hockey season my team will be playing in well known tournaments in North America,  November 30th 2 Nations College Prep, Brampton ON,  February 1 -Quebec City, Feb 16th Washington, DC, as well as April 18 - OWHA Provincials, Toronto ON.  I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile and video (if loaded) and look forward to communicating with you and what a great asset I would be to your school and team.
