Mikaela Chimbakis '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mikaela Chimbakis, i play on the Thunder Bay Midget A Queens which is considered the rep and travel women hockey team. I consider myself a versatile player, skilled in defence and experience playing forward. I am a left defence-man but able to play both left and right. I stand at 5"7 without skates and weigh approximately 150 pounds. I am a well rounded student who is respectful and out-going with my family and friends, and teammates. My position as a left- handed defence-man and a winger who can play both left and right, I have developed to be an offensive and defensive player, where I have the  quick ability to keep long strides and opponents from getting past me. I am currently looking for an oppportuity to play the sport I love while also pursuing an academic career. One of my biggest strengths as an elite hockey player who is on the ice 5-6 times a week while having on ice sessions 2 times a week is being able to stay on top of my eight academic classes. This season my team has competed in the top tournaments in North Amercia against the top teams. The next upcoming tournaments include the OWHA provincials in Toronto, ON, in April starting the 2nd to the 5th, 2020.
