Megan Gawley '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Megan Gawley, and this is my 12th year playing hockey. I've been paying since my first year novice (U9). During my first five years, I played on a coed team, then I switched to girls hockey for the rest of the years. I've been playing goalie full time since my first year of atom (U11), but I played goalie most of the time in novice (U9) since I had a natural skill for it and had so much fun doing it. I absolutely love the sport of hockey! For my goals in the sport, I want to play for a university or college while getting my degree, play for the PWHL, and make it to the Olympics.

I have a very strong work ethic, for both hockey related and non-hockey related activities. I am a very technical goaltender and will always strive to better my skillset in any way possible. I pay close attention to details as it's often the small things that make me that much better. I'm a well rounded goaltender, I'm very coachable and love to get every piece of advice possible to better my abilities. I always strive to be a good teammate and do my best to help make everyone around me get better at their own positions. I'm a very hard worker and will always try my best to reach my highest potential. 

I also contribute to the hockey community by coaching. During the 2023-2024 season I coached for Top Prospects Goaltending every week with novice (U9) to midget (U18) goalies, and I was the Calgary AA Fire PeeWee (U13) Red teams goalie coach for the season. I also coached with SDR Hockey Academy during the spring and summer of 2024. I'm currently looking for more coaching opportunities while in PEI.
