Emma Butterworth '26 Recruiting Profile

Hey! My name is Emma Butterworth and my dream is to stay involved with lacrosse and pursue the college athlete life! Initially grew up in Fayetteville NC and started playing Lacrosse when I was in the 5th grade when a girls lacrosse club held a clinic at our school, I picked up the sport fast and grew a strong and fast connection with lacrosse. When I was fresh out of the 7th grade I unfortunately had to move away due to problems at home and moved to Columbus IN where I currently reside and as they say, I grew lacrosse wherever I was planted and joined a small JV team. Now that team is a Varsity team and I am proud to be titled as captain and take up Indy United Club Lax in the summer. Going into my senior year scares me for I have no idea where the future will take me but all I know is college lacrosse is right around the corner... my goal is to play division lacrosse and play In the "big league" shooting high for Division 1! I believe that I am a good candidate for any college lacrosse team is 1.) I have a love for the sport and my goal in lacrosse is to play a clean game, I have no respect for people who destroy the love for lacrosse by playing dirty and being rude on the field, genuinely I feel like it sucks the fun out of the game. 2.) I am a fast and dedicated player, I believe myself to be easily coach-able and I take criticism well, I am aware of my strengths and weaknesses and I am dedicated to become the best player I can be. I believe that I am better from other recruits because I am here to make friends and just play the game and get better, I don't go on the field cussing out refs and hanging my head, I try to find the positive and look at the glass half full. I am lucky at my age to not have sustained any serious injuries that could potentially threaten my performance in the future and I try to take care of my body and try to hit the appropriate calorie daily intake for athletes my age. My academics are definitely not my strong suit and my testing scores definitely reflect that ( I'm a really terrible test taker) but I show up to class and push myself by signing myself up for a multitude of AP classes and try to work on my time management issues. I spend the majority of my time focusing on my extra curriculars and especially sport, besides that I have great attendance and an acceptable GPA! I'm a great choice for my dedication and health and positivity and I hope you consider me! :D
