Playing and representing Minnesota in the National Tournament as a freshman, has been one of the most impacting and monumental moments of my life. My passion for the game heightened after that tournament. For the first time, I was seeing the game of lacrosse as an opportunity to expand my athleticism and leadership skills. Compared to many of my teammates, I was late to start the sport of lacrosse. Up until 7th grade, when I joined, I focused my time on club soccer. As you can imagine, I had some catching up to do. I was confident that my endurance and soccer skills would translate over to the game of lacrosse to help me close the gap. I worked really hard to catch up! I spent my summers playing with a traveling club team in order to better perform my stick skills. I believe this additional training lead me to receive the Defensive Player of the Year award for my highschool team as a Freshman. Since then, I have learned about myself that I have the drive, a very strong defensive mindset and skills to perform at the intensity of a college level.
I am honored to play on one of the best highschool teams in the state of Minnesota; as of 2019 they have advanced to the state tournament nine consecutive times. I have learned that I can push myself harder than I ever imagined and one of my goals is to be voted MVP for my team. Academics are also very important to me. In college I would like to work towards a Bachelor of Science degree that may lead me into medicine or forensic science and criminology. Having been a multi-sport athlete my entire life, I have many skills and attributes that would apply to your program. I am a strong competitor (mentally and physically), a team-player (a friend and leader), and committed to consistent practice and timeliness. As you can see, I am a confident and strong player ready to work hard and become a future leader on your roster!
