To whom it may concern,
My major collegiate goal would be to get a scholarship to play lacrosse. The position in which I play currently is attack however, I have been selected to play midfield on occasion. I enjoy playing lacrosse as well as helping out my team to succeed. I always try my best and do whatever I can to win. Getting into a great college that has a strong lacrosse program would be an awesome opportunity for myself. Lacrosse has always been my main sport and it always will be. I take lacrosse more seriously than any other sport that I do and if I was offered to play division one, I'd accept in a heart beat.
I have many strengths that make me a great candidate for the team. For example, a lot of times I will shoot in one of the four corners of the goal therefor, it will be difficult for the goalie to save it. Another one of my strengths is catching and passing the ball. I have taught myself very well on how to catch and pass with my weak hand. I think catching and passing with my weak hand could be an advantage for myself during a game. It would make it more difficult for my defender to check my stick and receive the ball. I'm also good at building strong relationships with new team members. It's always good to make new friends which is another one of my strengths.
As you may already know, I participate in a club lacrosse program called Lady Roc. When I joined Lady Roc, it changed my character a lot. I didn't really know how to reach out and make new friends but, as we trained and practiced together I made such great friends. Lady Roc changed me because now I am a lot more socially active than I was before. Lady Roc also increased my strength and endurance which is a big plus. Referring to my HF-L team, I would say I am one of the faster people on that team because of Lady Roc. I participate in many extracurricular activities like, school dramas. I actually did get the lead role for Ramona and Beezus back in seventh grade. A lot of my HF-L teammates participate in school dramas too; we all enjoy it a lot. As you finish reading this, do you think I am different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics?
Thank you for your time,
Hailey McCarty
