Personal Statement
I started playing lacrosse when I was 13. I was running track before that, and my coach Hilary Bowen convinced me to play lacrosse. I fell in love with the sport. The more I have played I am realizing that this is something I want to do for as long as I can, and I know that playing in college would help that.
I work very hard on and off the field, and always strive to be my best. I always try to be the hardest working player on the field. I have great stick skills, am extremely coach-able, and make decisions quickly. I am a leader on the field, and try to help others when I can.
School is very important to me. I work very hard to keep a high GPA, and hold my self to a very high standard. I am in Zambia Club, where I help raise money to send kids to our sister school in Africa. This is a topic that is extremely important to me. In 2016 I went on a service trip to Costa Rica where I helped teach kids English and helped run a camp for them. This year, I am taking part in a program where I mentor a group of freshmen. This is an amazing opportunity for me because not only do I get to meet more people in our community, but I get to help guide them through high school.
When I attend college I want to find somewhere I can work hard in the classroom and push myself to be the best I can be and also compete at a high level in lacrosse. College lacrosse would be an amazing experience for me no matter where I play. I am looking forward to having a challenge in school and also play the sport I love while getting to know new people and have new experiences.
