Dedicated. Technical. Resourceful. Inquisitive. Genuine. These are the qualities that define me, shaped not only by experiences in my classroom and community but also my journey as a former rower into a competitive coxswain.
In the summer of 2022, my passion for the sport ignited after I curiously joined a crew camp. From the moment I stepped into the boat, I felt captivated by the blend of precision, power, and teamwork that defines rowing. This excitement remained as I made the decision to step into the coxswain seat. That is where I truly found my calling. Transitioning from a rower to a coxswain was transformative, it broadened both my perspective and leadership skills. Suddenly I wasn't solely focused on my own performance, and instead I embraced the responsibility of guiding and motivating my boat and harnessing their collective strength to drive us to success.I strongly believe that technical proficiency is not just a skill- it's a necessity. Whether navigating a crowded racecourse, strategizing a race plan, or guiding a practice, I have consistently proved to have the technical skills needed to lead a boat across the finish line.
I have just completed my novice year, and within that short time I was able to qualify a U17 4+ for youth nationals, which finished 12th in the nation. My coaches and I already have plans and goals in place to make it to an A final at nationals next year.
I am looking to be a coxswain on a competitive and successful men’s team. I want a boat that I can help build, strengthen, and ultimately lead to success, no matter the definition of it. I hope we can make some time to chat soon!
