My collegiate goal as a coxswain is to provide specific feedback to the rowers to maintain the fastest crew. I think coxswains have important roles as the eyes and ears of the crew, multitasking with executing race plan, steering, informing the crew of placements of competition and accounting for the safety of the rowers and equipment. I think coxing for my club team has shaped me into a natural leader, personal relationships with the individual rowers such as reaching their goals for erg tests and knowing their strengths and weakness skill wise. Learning how to cox comes with experience, with each practice and regatta, I learn from my mistakes and allow feedback from rowers on what I did well and what I can do to improve each session.
