Although I began rowing a year ago, I absolutely love the sport and would like to continue at the collegiate level. As a lightweight rower, I am interested in participating as a rower and/or a coxswain. My size makes both of these possible. I have an affinity for rowing because I am detail-oriented and enjoy working on the technical details of the stroke. I am focused and driven to be the best I can and train six days a week with Brian Elliott. I chose to spend my summer training in St. Catharines, Ontario with Nancy Storrs. The year round access to the water has been invaluable. Since I am considered a lightweight, I work hard to build my endurance, stamina and strength. I work out with a personal trainer and do indoor cycling 3-4 times per week. I have taken the Sparks Coxswain camp to hone the skills that are limited at my club. I am also taking the US Rowing Level 2 Coaching certification this February. I am extremely dedicated to everything I take on and enjoy. It is my goal to continue to improve my skills and be an asset to a collegiate team.
