I have been rowing since I was 15 years old previously at Warrington Rowing Club and at present Agecroft Rowing Club. I currently train 6 times a week.
Despite Covid, I have continued to train whilst at home in lockdown and my determination and resilience has enabled me to maintain my fitness and strength and come back even stronger.
Although 2021/22 is my first full season competing, our quad has won several Regional events and reaching the A final at National Schools; quarter finals at Henley Womens Regatta; and pre - qualifying for Henley Royal Regatta due to our outstanding season.
I have competed at bow and at 2 in the quad, and I have competed in doubles and single events. I am passionate about rowing and I want to continue to improve at University level.
I am determined and committed in everything I do. Prior to rowing I have been doing Karate since I was 5. Karate has taught me discipline, how to follow instructions, and preservance. I have also completed a Young Leaders Award which demonstrates my ability to communicate with others and teach both children and adults at every level from white to black belts. Teaching has taught me patience, to be calm under pressure and to use different approaches, adapting my teaching style as not every person is the same.
I am currently studying A level Biology, Chemistry and Maths to pursue my vocation in medicine. I feel it is important to make sure I find a University with the perfect balance of academia and rowing so that I can further both my passions.
I am looking to join colleges in 2023.
