Personal Statement

Georgia is a New Zealander, a country which punches well above its weight in many rowing events. At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, New Zealand won Gold in the Women's single & pair, Men's eight, Silver in the Women's eight, plus many more medals. Georgia is very proud to be a Kiwi!

Over the past three years,  Georgia has fallen in love with rowing - she enjoys the growth gained from her coaches, the friends she has made, the values of hard work and discipline plus the overall lifestyle. Rowing is something Georgia wants to pursue in life and she feels she has the right assets to do so - athleticism, dedication, determination, being a team player plus much more.  Georgia is a young athlete with a positive outlook on life. She is willing to do anything to get the education and sporting Coaching needed in order to make it to the Olympics.

  • AwardsI received distinction in Effective Speaking – Year 8 which aided me in becoming a finalist in the Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 Speech Competitions. Year 9 I received overall academic excellence (meaning over 80% in all end of year exams) from my school Westlake Girls High School. I have been in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) extension programme for years 9, 10 and 11. I have acceptance into English extension class 2021 (year 11). Recieved academic overall merit in year 11 NCEA level 1. With merit endorsement in english, science, geography, esteam and French.
  • ActivitiesI coach Netball during the Winter period for the year 9 netball team at Westlake Girls. I have done this for three years now. I have been a part of the Blues U16/17 rowing camp provided for female rowers during the Winter season. I have participated in both years 2020 and 2021. I have participated in the U18 light blues rowing programme 2022. I work around 20 hours (on top of rowing!) at the local store in Red Beach. I completed a two-day workshop at IAG insurance company and Genesis learning about motivational theories in a workplace environment. I have also been on set for the television show "One of Us is Lying" as a background extra.
