Willoughby Sheldon '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Willo Sheldon,

I am began rowing my freshman year and I haven't been able to stop since. I decided to join in winter, after playing volleyball in the fall. 

I now row for my school Walt Whitman, in Bethesda Maryland. We have around 20-30 varsity girls on out team, racing three eights in the spring. I would love to row in a more mature environment, and become a more elite athlete. I would also love to go to a school that is academically rigorous. I'd love to study sciences, like chemistry, biology, perhaps even pre-med. The main boat I race is the eight, but I have raced fours and rowed pairs. 

So what makes me different? I am determined and passionate about this sport.  I am extremely coachable and and always eager to learn more to better my abilities. I am always striving to achieve my best, and pushing my limits on the water, erg, and even in school. I try to push out of my comfort zone daily to maintain growth in all aspects of my life. Crew has allowed me to be in my best shape, and gain muscle mass. I am ambitious and ready to fit right in at any program!
