Personal Statement
Every day I am striving to be a better person and student-athlete. There is not a day that goes by when I don't think about my goals in college and my goals for after college. To reach my goals, and achieve where I want to be in life, I have to put my heart into everything I do. For example my grades in school, my athletic life, my social life, and giving back to the community. It is very important to be able to balance everything and also have a social life. The key is to have good time management; that has never been a problem for me.
My goals have always been clear to me. From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to go into the health field. I also knew that I wanted to play sports for the rest of my life. I started playing sports at the age of two. My parents put me in everything, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, basketball, etc. The first sport that I fell in love with was swimming. I started swimming competitively at the age of 6. But once I got into high school I found crew. Just after one practice, I fell in love with the sport and the team!
To be able to be athletic, a big part of that is the way you treat your body. Swimming was the sport that taught me everything I learned, and still am learning, about nutrition and body awareness. I don't think many people are educated in nutrition so I would love to teach people more about it. I also don't think people take good care of their bodies, so I would love to be a helping hand.
