Hello, I am Logan Sundberg and I am excited to have the opportunity to explore the world of recruiting for collegiate rowing and I am very passionate about my position as a coxswain. I love being on the water every day and being able to experience boats of all levels and ability and that excitement when a boat improves. My goal is to row in college and to be able to experience rowing at a higher level.
As a person, I bring leadership to my team, as well as an element of grit and competitiveness. Outside of rowing I am a avid ski racer, and have been for the last 10 years. Skiing has taught me how to persevere especially for someone of my stature. In skiing, bigger is better and since I am on the smaller side, skiing has taught me to strive to succeed, even when conditions are tough.
Skiing is an individual sport yet it has taught me how to be competitive by striving to get a better time or by improving my technique. I think this has transferred into my success as a coxswain. My leadership, technique and my ability to manage the clock is even more critical when coaching and motivating my boat. I love racing and feeling that anticipation and adrenaline of a race when it is bow ball to bow ball.
In terms of academics, I have always worked hard and strived to get the best grades that I can get. It can be hard to juggle sports of such intensity, such as skiing or rowing, but I think that has made me work harder, and I have learned how to manage my time much better which has paid off.
I would love to row in college and I am working hard each and every day to become a better coxswain!
