As an individual, I see myself as very well-rounded. I not only spend the time necessary to complete my academic and athletic responsibilities to the fullest, but I allow myself some free time to do other things I enjoy as well. Music and the performing arts have a special place in my heart. Currently, I am a part of Madrigals, Drama Club, and various school-ran choirs. I hope that it is an appreciation that will continue to be a part of me as I move on to college. My goal as a coxswain is to not only lead the boat during races and practices, but to help create an environment in which the rowers feel encouraged to push themselves and communicate their needs. I understand that no two rowers are the same, and so, I make an effort to form a bond with everyone, so they feel comfortable and so I can gain a greater understanding of what motivates them and how they properly fit into the boat as a whole. I strongly believe that teams are better when they are together. I would like to take my love of the creative arts and my need for forming those personal connections, as well as my strong enjoyment of math, and translate those into a career such as Marketing.
