Hey, I'm Liz! I'll start off by saying that crew was not my first choice. Like most girls who end up with this sport, I participated in other activities but it never felt right. I always wanted to do something for the school, so when high school rolled around, it became a great opportunity. I immediately fell in love with the speed. It was unlike any other sport. I did not mix well with balls: no hand-eye coordination. I also hated running, I always felt like I was running for my life. So, I managed to find a sport where I could sit. Yet, I was still faced with challenges that pushed me past any boundaries I had met, in a good way. I've always been the rower that the coach could put in any boat and expect an excellent performance. I've thrived in crew despite balancing an incredibly heavy workload. I excel in school and on the water. In spite of this, I've had quite an unusual varsity career, given the global pandemic. I'd love to explore rowing in college, with no programs off-limits. Reach out, I'd love to chat!
