Isabella Varghese '26 Recruiting Profile

I hope to at least have the opportunity to compete in as an athlete in college. I do not necessarily need a team that is overly competitive, though. I have been involved in the sport of rowing since the fall of 2021. I am now a junior in high school. Though most of my rowing and coxing accomplishments occurred in my earlier years of high school, I am currently in the process of building a team at my school, Doane Stuart. My coaches are both teachers at my school who rowed in high school and college. I, with some assistance from my coaches and headmaster, have found equipment for the growing team to use, a boathouse location, and have gotten the team USRowing affiliated. Though I have faced challenges in this sport, I have never given up on it. I love rowing and I love coxing because it is hard. I have also maintained a very high GPA throughout my rowing career because my education is incredibly important to me. Despite my racing career temporarily being put on hold to build a team, I know I can offer college teams great spirit, intellect, leadership, and passion.
