NW Youth Regional...Personal Statement
I developed a love for teamwork and leadership as a coxswain, which inspired me to seek collegiate rowing. I have a thorough understanding of the complexities of the sport and the value of open communication and trust between rowers and coxswains thanks to my experiences on the water.
I can inspire and motivate my team to do their best work because I am a powerful communicator. I am aware of the value of strategy and the part the coxswain performs in carrying out the race strategy. I can make split-second choices that can decide the outcome of a race thanks to my attention to detail, quick thinking, and adaptability.
I have a strong work ethic and am dedicated to continuous growth on an individual and team level. I am mindful of the value in receiving constructive criticism, and I am prepared to take learning from both wins and failures. My commitment to the sport has caused me to focus on my training and keep up a healthy lifestyle that helps me attain the goals I set.
I'm searching for a school that values teamwork, leadership, and commitment as a prospective collegiate rower. I think that rowing is a way of life that calls for commitment and passion, not just a hobby. I'm honored to have the chance to help a college rowing team and to grow as an athlete and coxswain.
