I started rowing at 14, and haven’t looked back since. Growing up I
sailed, and played recreational lacrosse, field hockey, and track. I
played travel soccer for years and swam year round. For fun I play
some tennis and golf but had always found my peace in a kayak or on a
paddle board. From the day of my first regatta in 2019, being part of
a team sport on the water, I knew I found where I belong.
I enjoy being part of a team and being able to challenge myself
individually. Over the last three years I've focused on seeking out
and making opportunities for myself to be able to grow as a rower and
to earn the chance to row at the college level. I am a team leader
and lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I spread
positivity to my teammates and support them on and off the water. I
strive to be one of the hardest working rowers and recruits you'll
find. In the classroom, I'm an actively engaged participant and study
hard and maintain a high GPA. I also volunteer at several
organizations in my community and have started and run two service
clubs at my school.
From the time I was very young coaches have commended me on my
coachability and work ethic. Last year I earned the, "Most Improved"
award from my coaches and attribute it to my dedication on and off the
water. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the
classroom and on the water. I currently don't have a one college in
mind but am seeking to ultimately find the right college match that
allows me to row at a highly competitive level.
I have personal goals in mind on and off the water but continuing to
improve as a rower, being a example for younger teammates and making
my parents proud are my driving forces.
