One thing that makes me stand out among other recruits is my ability to change. I have an extensive background with years of training and experience as a coxswain. That, plus my ability to be moldable and coachable, is what sets me apart. I am experienced enough that I do not need to be taught the fundamentals of coxing. I also know how to be coached and how to be the coach's coach on the water. I have experience in all types of boats, women's, men's, 4-boats, 8-boats, bow-loaders and stern-loaders. I have coxed sprint races as well as head races and understand the competitiveness to this rigorous sport. I write my own race plan prior to each practice. My crew puts their trust in me as their leader and as their strongest supporter. Having been captain of my club team, proves that I am able to make personal connections with each rower so they feel comfortable and powerful in the boat. I have worked with collegiate alumni as well as Olympic rowers, Olympic coxswains, and coaches at the Sparks Coxswain camp in Sarasota Florida. I understand the competitive world of rowing. Academically, I am currently an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate and I like to challenge myself and subject myself to the most rigorous academic program available. I take my studies and my athletics seriously and pride myself in being a dedicated member of my team. I can strongly say that I have a passion for rowing and am more than ready to take the next step into the competitive world of collegiate coxing.
