Hello! My name is Riley Gaul, and I want to pursue coxing at the collegiate level. I thrive in the competitive, supportive community of my current high school team and am excited to bring that experience to a college program.
I'm a part of my school rowing team at Wakefield High School, which has helped me develop my skills as a coxswain and grow my passion for the sport. I was first introduced to rowing in 8th grade by my mom, a former varsity coxswain at Notre Dame. Her passion has been a key factor in fueling my love for crew.
I take pride in leading and motivating my team, and I push myself to cox the tightest course, to run practice efficiently, and to be an active factor in my team's success. One of my proudest movements as a coxswain is steering the lowest course meters compared to the rest of our coxswains at HOCR 2024, on my first time racing on the course.
Outside of rowing, I dedicate a large portion of my time to Scouts, where I earned my Eagle Scout Award. As the Senior Patrol Leader of my troop, I've gained valuable leadership and management experience while overseeing a large group of people.
In school, I excel despite a challenging course load, maintaining a 4.07 GPA while taking multiple AP and intensified classes.
I'm looking forward to being part of a competitive collegiate women's rowing team, where I can contribute to my boat's success.
