I come from a family line of veterans and have grown to appreciate the dedication, sacrifice, and devotion to duty that not only my grandfathers have shown me but my own father. Honor, respect, commitment, and hard work are all values that have raised me to be the person I am today through the influences of a military environment and two parents who were both division one athletes. Through my desire to become the best version of myself and be apart of not only a team but a community, I fell in love with the sport crew. Rowing requires 110% percent effort every stroke and if I give anything less than my best I know I’m not only letting myself down but the rest of the boat. This aspect of teamwork and dedication is what draws me to embrace defeat and pain but learn and grow in adversity.
Although rowing is important to me, a lot of my attention is focused on academics and making sure I give 100% to my studies. I hope to graduate top ten in my class and pursue a degree in Computer Science. My dream of rowing at the collegiate level and graduating with a Computer Science degree is only a goal but I believe with the character I’ve developed and skills I possess, I will impact and contribute to whatever I encounter.
