I started rowing at 13 years old and I quickly realized how much I loved it and wanted to continue. I decided I wanted to pursue rowing in college when I realized that I couldn't imagine not continuing the sport that had brought me joy, community, and achievement.
I have been described as a community builder and supporter of my teammates, and I strive to make the team collectively stronger through encouragement and competition. I am constantly seeking ways to improve my form and technique, and looking for ways to make the boat faster as a whole.
In school I take my academics seriously and I am a member of the National Honors Society with a high GPA. I also am a member of student leadership at my school to connect students and build community.
I want to find a college that fits my aspirations athletically and academically, and hope to be part of a team that values its members individually and as a whole. As the first aspiring collegiate athlete in my family, I want to show that I can achieve athletically in rowing through hard work and determination.
