I played almost every sport that my grade school offered for my middle school years, and fully planned to play basketball during high school. That changed for me when I did a summer rowing camp at Seattle Prep. I immediately fell in love with rowing, and loved the challenges that it brought me. Being the third oldest of ten siblings, I have to be a leader and overcome obstacles everyday. This duty as an older sibling has helped me become a more prominent leader on my team as I have gotten older. Rowing has taught me lessons about hard work, grit, teamwork, and the support that a team can give you. I am hoping to continue my rowing career in a collegiate level. I want to continue to competing against other schools, and I want to continue to get faster everyday. My team is relatively small (13 varsity girls) and I am looking forward to be able to grow as an athlete and a person on a larger team.
