Katelyn Hancock '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katelyn Hancock and I have been playing soccer competitively for 6 years. I am in the eleventh grade, and I am the starting goalkeeper for the Sheridan LadyJackets Varsity Soccer Team. 

In the spring 2021 season, the Lady YellowJackets finished 3rd in the AAAAA South, with a 9-8-1 record. I recorded 7 Shut-outs, with 176 saves and 30 goals allowed and was named to the All-AAAAA South team.

In the first round of the state Playoffs, we lost to Siloam Springs, where I recorded 18 saves in a 6-0 loss. I was named All - Tournament team for that performance.

I have found my voice, realizing that I am a natural leader both on and off the field.  It truly hit home when we played Lakeside both tied for 1st in conference at the time, and when Lakeside took the win, and we were all down...my teammates were still looking to me to rally them. I embraced that responsibility and I believe it's one of the things that will set me apart from other GK's looking to move to the next level.

As important soccer is to me, so is school. I finished my freshman year and sophomore year with a 4.0 GPA and took multiple AP classes in my junior and senior years.   I finished my senior year with a 4.2 GPA placing 5th in my class of 260.

 I finished my senior season with 208 saves and only 37 goals allowed. I was named AAAAA All State and invited to play on the Arkansas High Schoool Coaches Association All Star Game at UCA on June 25, 2022. 

I am am planning on playing college soccer and am excited to keep training. I hope to meet coaches from all over, and to train with them as well. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to view my profile and hopefully considering me for your team.
