Mia Ferkranus '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a hard-working goalkeeper that has been playing for 10 years, 8 of which have been dedicated to train specifically for my position.  I train 3 days a week with my team and twice a week with a private goalkeeper trainer. I am very coachable and will strive to continue to learn and grow every day.  I believe that my strengths include great communication to my teammates, especially my back line, as well as my ability to play with my feet.  I am right footed but have a very strong left foot as well.  I am also committed to excel as a student and currently have a 4.3 GPA with a desire to study nursing in an undergraduate program. 

I currently play for the LA Breakers ECNL 2004 team under Coach Jason Kelly and GK Coach Mike Littman.  I have also trained extensively with private goalkeeper coaches, Ruben Messina and Ian Fueur. 

Prior to Breakers, I was with the LA Galaxy Girls Academy DA for 2 1/2 years as their starting Goalkeeper.  The only reason I left was because they discontinued their girls program after the Development Academy folded.  During that time I was selected for two Youth National Team ID training sessions.  During my time at Real So Cal, who I was with for over 5 years prior to Galaxy, I was part of the Cal South ODP team for two of those years.
