I first started playing soccer when I was about 4 years old. It was always something I wanted to do and continues to be. I believe that starting at that young an age has allowed me to grow up in an environment understanding how a team works or should work which has helped on and off the field. Through playing, I have also learned how to better handle loss and disappointment as some previous seasons have not had the same success as others. It has only made me play harder and taught me not to let mistakes bring me down.
Playing three sports in high school has also allowed me to adjust to the kind of rigorous schedule that a college athlete may have, including multiple practices a day and still having class work to complete. I run cross country and track mainly to stay in shape for soccer, which has always been a priority for me. In both of those sports, however, we have created a team that feels like a family and allows us to push each other and compete for each other. I am looking for a team that can be very competitive but can also have that family-like environment in which teammates play for each other.
