I'm Sandra Nayely Grijalva, a junior a Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale, Co. My college goals and aspirations are to study early childhood education, to become a teacher or pediatric doctor one day. I personally think that I am a good candidate for any team because the only thing I come for is to play soccer. I am extremely passionate about soccer and I've dedicated most of my life to it even though I've only been playing for a couple years. There's nothing better than pushing yourself to become something better. Soccer not only makes me a better soccer player but a better it makes me a better person, teammate, and family member. I don't ever give up if I fall I stand and try again. Nothing stops me. I have rheumatoid arthritis, I was just recently diagnosed, and since then I've hit hard and fallen, but I stand back up and put the ball behind the net. I push myself to become faster, quick with the ball but also quick with my mind, knowing where the ball is going to go next is key. I wouldn't necessarily say it's better than other recruits because I'm really not I know many people who are smarter and better soccer players than me but I think something that makes me better is that I do this all for my family, I want one day I can show my parents that I made it to college to play soccer. My parents don't think soccer can get me far, but I believe anything is possible if you dream like I do.
