My senior year has been going great so far! I was awarded first team all conference for the second straight year. Our soccer team finished the season at 11-5-3 and I scored 10 goals and 14 assists in 19 games playing as a midfielder/forward. I tied for the leading points scorer for my senior year and have led the team the last three years in points scored and goals scored. I scored 38 goals and had 28 assists in my four years playing varsity soccer. I was the second all time leading points scorer and goal scorer since 1993 when Valley Soccer began and the top leading points scorer since we joined class M from class S in 2006. We made the Shoreline Conference tournament for the first time since 2010 and for the 6th time since 1992. We qualified for the state tournament for the 4th time in the four years I have been on the team, and we made it to the second round where we played the number 2 seed in class M who had a record of 15-1. We lost the game 3-1 but played hard and I assisted on our goal. Our team has had the 4th best season since our soccer team began in 1993. I am almost done my first semester of my senior year and achieved High Honors.I am hoping to be nominated again for the second straight year as a "Scholar Athlete" in the Shoreline Interscholastic Conference. My junior year I was nominated in the Hartford Courant's first team and honorable mention state selections and hope to be nominated again this year. I have been playing on highly competive premier teams since I was 12 years old which included playing for CFC, South Central Premier and FSA NPL. During our league play we traveled to states as far away as Pennyslvania. We played in the NPL National Showcase tournament in Palm Coast, Florida, the Jefferson Cup in VA, the PDA showcase in New Jersey and the GPS College Showcase in Massachusetts.I also participated on the CT U15 Olympic Development Team. I have continued to volunteer for the Top Soccer program for my fourth straight year. The program works with developmentally challenged youth to use athletics to support learning skills. I was hired this past summer as the only youth empowerment counselor, out of a team of six adult teaching professionals, to work with a new grant funded program run out of Middletown Connecticut. The program called the "21st Century Learners" was designed to give a diverse group of middle school students in Middletown Connecticut a after school and summer program where students were challenged to use academics and athletics to empower themselves to become self motivated and group learners in a academic and athletic setting. I was able to participate in a internship with Shoreline Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic with a Physical Therapist in Essex, CT and was eventually hired part time. I plan on continuing to play soccer in college and will be majoring in the Exercise Sciences, I hope to be a tremendous asset academically and athletically to the college I end up attending.
