Sofia Marchese '23 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a Junior at Middletown High School. In my youth I’ve played multiple sports, many years of dance and gymnastics, softball, and of course soccer! My passion for soccer took over and I ended up making it my primary sport. I started off on a rec team then moved to a town/travel team (middletown magic) and then at the age of 11 I tried out for a premier club, Sporting Ct, that I have been on since then. I also tried out for my high school team freshman year and amongst 7 of my peers I was the only freshman  to make the varsity team. This was a big accomplishment for me I felt rewarded for all of the hard work through the years I put into this sport. I’ve been competing at the Varsity level for 3 years now and have had experience playing everywhere on the field. Primary playing Center Back, Left Outside Back and Left outside midfield. These positions are comfortable for me being left footed however I’ve played everywhere and can play any position. To end off my sophomore and junior season I was proud to receive the “most consistent player” award for 2 years in a row. I always work hard on and off the field. I’ve gotten high honors/honors throughout my entire academic career. I’m always putting in 110 percent, I do not give up no matter what, I consider that one of my strongest suits. Even if we are down 6-0 I am always the one to build my team up and to not stop working hard. I am a leader, a reliable player, very committed, respectful, hard worker. My hopes are to continue my soccer career throughout my college years.
