My name is Renata Mercedes, and I consider myself to be a hardworking and ambitious individual. My competitiveness is one of my strongest traits, but it can also be a disadvantage if not controlled. I always try to do my best in every game, even if it's just a scrimmage, and I'll do everything I can to win. Although I know not every game is perfect, I would look for the mistakes I made so that I could improve after each game. Inside the field, I consider myself a serious player who wants to focus on every exercise, and outside the team, I'm the type of player who likes to unite the team and form bonds. For my college career, I would like to have given everything in the field so that I don't have to regret not maximizing my potential as a soccer player. Outside of soccer, I want to be an exceptional student, studying what I enjoy and putting in the same effort as I do in soccer. When I graduate from college, I hope to have lifelong friendships, to be a soccer player who feels she has achieved her dream, and to be a student who is excited about the future.
I have represented the Dominican Republic at the U15, U17, U20 and National team levels. I came Waterbury, CT for 9th grade to attend The Taft School. I have recently joined the club team FC Copa in the ECNL League and am excited to get started with club this year!
