Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I can remember. It began when I was only 5 and living in Wilton, CT, but grew to be a true love when my family moved to Carlsbad California and I began playing club soccer as a U8 player for the San Diego Surf Club, and later Carlsbad Lightning. I knew early on that soccer would be my sport, and I dreamed of following in the footsteps of players like Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and Carli Lloyd. Today, my dream is to play soccer at a D1 school, and I have been working hard towards this goal. After my family moved back to Wilton, I joined Beachside Soccer Club of Connecticut, where I have played forward for the past 3 years and was elected Captain by my coach and teammates. Together we have won many large tournaments such as the Embassy Cup in Maryland, and the EDP Cup this year. In addition to my Club team, I was one of only 3 freshman who made the Wilton High School Varsity team as a starting player. During my freshman fall, Wilton High School went on to compete in the FCIAC , and States, upsetting a #2 seeded team in the 2nd round, before our own elimination. It was a exciting season, and I look forward to the next 3 years.
I primarily play the front of the midfield or the forward. My strength is on the right wing while in a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3. I have a great amount of speed and skill while taking on players. One of my biggest strengths is crossing across the goal for someone to come and place it in the net.
I am a very intelligent person on and off the field. I see myself as a perfectionist, especially in school. My favorite subjects in school are Biology and Math because I like figuring out problems and I like knowing how things function in organisms.
I describe my character as a smart, caring, and responsible person and player. I have many close friends and they can come to me with any problem and I would be there to help. I see that as one of my best qualities.
Lastly, some of the best things I have heard said about me is that I have a good attitude, respect for the game, and am very coachable. I am flexible with coach changes, willing to try new positions, and learn quickly to make adjustments. I think that is what makes me such a valuable player.
