Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Jocelyn Rivera-Prado and I am a multi-sport athlete playing travel and varsity high school softball, varsity volleyball, club and varsity high school soccer. At three years old, my parents enrolled me in a youth soccer program where I quickly fell in love with the game. If I had to choose one sport to play, soccer would be my number one pick. My strongest position on the pitch is center back but am skilled in the outside back positions. Previous and current coaches have commended me on my coachability and leadership on and off the pitch.
As a student-athlete, I am exceptional at maintaining a high GPA by using time management skills. My academic goal is to become Valedictorian or Salutatorian of the Clearwater High School 2022 graduating class. Being involved in school clubs is extremely important to me. I am a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. Outside of academic clubs, I am Vice President of the Student Council.
My fascination with the human body has led me to pursue a major in biology to become a Forensic Medical Examiner. Having the opportunity to play soccer while striving to achieve my career goals would be a dream come true.
