Controlling what I can is my biggest strength. Whether this be attitude, effort, or discipline I never give less than my best. This is how I make an impact on a team no matter the score of the game or how I’m playing.
I am Alexis Baldemor, class of 2026, 6.829 GPA, outside back and outside midfielder. What I just described is how I approach all aspects of my life. I believe it is my responsibility to harness every opportunity to it's fullest extent. Now where is my proof you may ask. On October 12, 2018, I started playing soccer, in April 2021 I started playing club soccer at the NPL level, from there I have made it to a ECNL-R, and last year played on a DPL/NPL team where we finished the season ranked 1st in our region for NPL and 3rd for DPL. I was a Captain this year as a Junior for my high-school team and have been a starter since my freshman year playing almost the whole game. Additionally, I was also challenged with going from center back to striker and was voted the hardest worker. These results don’t even come close to representing the countless hours I have put into improving. Almost year round I have one day off a week, if that, and multiple months of the year I do double practices most days. Although not all the results have come yet I am enjoying the work and the journey.
As I said earlier, I apply this methodology to every part of my life and that includes academics as well. Although I would go into the proof of my efforts in academics (they can be located under academic achievements in my profile) I would rather tell you why I put so much work into my academics. The simplified version is my future. I want to be an excellent Physical Therapist one day and an expert at what I do. This career path will let me help people, be involved with sports, work with the human body, and constantly call for problem solving and innovation. To be the best for my future patients I need to complete an incredible bachelor’s program and top notch Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. This is why I push myself to perform as well in high school as possible to one day attend a school that have these programs.
Although I have other strengths on the field, I truly believe my mentality is my greatest strength. My positivity, coach ability, attitude, effort, and dedication has been what set me apart on every team I’ve been on. I know these are what I can control, so I do, I know the results will come with continued work.
