I started my soccer journey at my local YMCA about 14 years ago-back when we got snacks and ran through parent's arm tunnels after games. As I enter my senior year at the Lovett School, I can certainly say that those days are long over. Now that I have retired those little cleats and shin guards, I play for a local club here in Georgia, Concorde Fire's ECNL Regional team. Throughout the years I have been playing soccer, I have played every position on the field. By playing so many positions, I have developed a great vision for the field, which is probably one of my best attributes. Currently, however, I would consider myself to be an outside midfielder, an attacking mid, and occasionally, a forward. I have also played a variety of sports from basketball and volleyball to tennis and even going to state my first year running track last year. But despite playing so many sports, the one consistent sport I have continued to play is soccer.
Outside of soccer, I have many interests and hobbies which include traveling, photography and film, volunteering, and cooking. I am also highly involved in my school, like being a co-founder of a club, leading an affinity group for black students, or being a senior member of SDLC (the student diversity leadership counsel) to name a few. In the classroom, I am more of a humanities girl, my interests leaning towards my English, History, and Spanish language classes. But, I always try to challenge myself both on the field and in school. Reflecting this, I am currently enrolled in AP English 12: Literature and Composition, AP Spanish Language, Honors Holocaust & the History of Genocide, AP United States Government & Politics, Honors Photography III, Botany, and Statistics and finance.
While I am undecided on what I want to study and major in, I have many interests ranging from criminology/sociology and education to graphic design and fashion. While I do love my sport, I will always put academics first. Because of this, I am also looking for a school that will support and prioritize my academic journey as well.
All in all, my collegiate goal is to culminate my soccer career into an experience where I can play for a school I love, a supportive team, and amazing fans, all while pursuing my academic path.
Thank you!
