Aloha, my name is Breanne Moreilhon and I am from Ewa Beach, Hawaii. I have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old and have gained valuable experience playing on AYSO and club teams before and in-between the high school season. Being born and raised in Hawaii, I’ve come to recognize the influence of sports on our people. We have been successful in many sports, but I believe that soccer can easily be overlooked. My team and I have had experiences while playing in mainland tournaments or camps where other teams underestimate us based on our size and where we are from. Being physically smaller than your typical soccer player, I believe that size doesn’t matter. In fact, it motivates me to be a better player! I believe in fighting for the ball and using your mindset and skills to be the best you can be both on and off the field.
As a player, I think that one of my greatest strengths is resilience. Whether it’s on the field during a game or during a challenging part of life, I will always push myself to get right back up when knocked down. I never want to let my team down and I am always trying to show them my best effort and will power to succeed. I don’t like to let others get the best of my efforts, and I will always fight to prove my abilities both as a player and as a loyal teammate. Aside from keeping a strong mindset, I like to focus on the technicality of the game. I strive to think ahead of my movements and consider the perspectives of my opponents. Everything from body positioning to potential pathways for the ball are taken into consideration when I prepare myself to play. I think that my mindset and technicality combine when it comes to situations where I have to adapt the game to my abilities. Being physically smaller than the average soccer player, I find myself using strategy and tactics to my best advantage. I’ve learned to watch out for my opponent’s dominant foot, body language, and movements so that I can predict how I will use my skills in a game when there are many avenues of approach.
Overall, I aspire to be the best I can be while doing what I love. I shoot high and work hard for the things that I want to achieve. As a freshman at Damien Memorial High School, I have worked my way onto the varsity girl’s soccer team while making the most goals for the season. I admit, it can be a little intimidating being a freshman on a team of upperclassmen. But, I am confident that I have proved my abilities as a freshman and built a family out of my team. Their support and encouragement during my training have allowed me to grow into a better player. Thanks to them, I was able to make it onto the All-Stars list for Hawaii DII Varsity Soccer as a freshman. This is a cumulative list of MVP’s from DII private school (ILH) soccer teams in Hawaii, and I’m proud and honored to have made it as the top midfielder.

Though I’ve only completed one year of high school so far, I hope that I can continue building my skills as a player and build off of my current accomplishments. I want to show everyone who I am as both a person and a player and hopefully continue playing the sport that I love while receiving a higher education after high school.
