Aloha Coaches,
My name is Chloe Cecilia Hokuli’i Ayonon. I am a sophomore (c/o 2026) and attend Island School, a private collegiate preparatory school on the island of Kaua'i.
I have played soccer since I was 4 and basically grew up on the soccer field as both my parents coached high school soccer when I was born. My soccer story began playing for fun and has quickly become my passion over the years. My parents both played collegiate soccer, my aunt played D1 collegiate soccer, my Abuelo (Grandpa) played professionally in Spain for Real Betis and my Tutu (Grandma) played collegiate soccer in Hawaii. You can say soccer is "in my blood"!
I feel in my element whenever I have a ball at my feet or in my training zone. Whenever i'm not practicing with my teams or playing in games, I am training on my own or working on developing my speed, quickness and strength through SAQ training. Not a day goes by that I don't try to improve as a player, whether i'm on or off the training field.
I also strive to challenge myself academically by enrolling in honors courses where possible. Being 1 of 40 students in my high school class provides an academic environment that pushes me to be the best student I can be.
I am a defender at heart! Whether Center back, outside back or holding/defensive midfielder; I use my athleticism and physicality to defend and my technicality to distribute and counterattack from the back. I also have a 30–40-yard throw-in along with a 40-50 yard free-kick range which allows me to assist my team with air attacks and clearing the ball out of the defense from the sideline. I like to consider myself a free-kick/restart specialist!
My goal is to play for a competitive women‘s collegiate soccer program where I can continue to push myself on the field and also pursue my career in the classroom.
