Aloha, my name is Madelyn (Madee or Mad Dawg) Dougherty.
My training background started in California playing NorCal club at age eight and I continued to play soccer (along with many other sports) when my family moved to Maui. I joined Cobras Soccer Club ‘03/’04 and then past 3 years Hawaii Rush ‘03. I have developed a love and passion for the sport since a young age and my goal is to continue playing, possibly into professionals eventually. My focus is to challenge myself daily and work hard always.
I’ve played two years of high school ball, my first year at Seabury Hall and this year at King Kekaulike High School (started all games both schools). My main position is forward and occasional midfield and wing. I was deemed most assists and second leading scorer for KKHS MIL (Hawaii States’ results still undetermined). This year at HHSAA State Championship we were runner’s up DIV I. It is the highest finish my high school, King Kekaulike, has ever achieved and it has been >15 years since a girls team from MIL made it past quarterfinals. I have learned so much this year with HS and club. I love my coaches and teammates and am very grateful for that.
At this time I play and start for Hawaii Rush ‘03 Soccer Club (head coaches Brad Ventura and Garth Nakamura) -my teammates are some of the top athletes in Hawaii. I also compete in xcountry in the fall and track in the spring (3rd MIL for xcountry Fall 2019 and Spring 2019 Track 1st MIL for the 400m, 2nd for the 800m; 2nd 4x400 States & 9th 400m States). I come from a line of hard working athletes and a family of six. My parents both attended Boston University where my dad played quarterback (played pro both in NFL Europe and CFL) and my mom ran track for the BU terriers. My eldest sister played two years of college soccer.
