My name is Luca Bontrager. I have been playing soccer since I was in fifth grade, at Lakewood Park. I did not start at a young age, but something connected when I started, and I was soon playing up on the middle school team. I was always on teams with only boys, so I got tough in time. My goals are to always be encouraging on the field, and to play strategically. I have played for Auburn Rangers, and Fort Wayne United.
I go to college camps every year, and my footwork has improved, and there's always a saying:Never skip leg workouts. That goes for me. I always felt like I needed the best, so I put in the extra work, always asking what I was doing right, and what I could work on. Over the years, I have learned that it takes a team to win. There is no "I" in the word team. Of course, I should still play to the best of my ability, but also work to connect with my players. As I work hard on the field, I work hard in the classroom. My grades and work ethic are very important to me, and I keep my grades to A's.
I'm looking forward to my future soccer career, wherever that may be, and I will show that I have what it takes to put in the work.
