UPDATE: I have decided to accept a goalkeeper position on the FC Köln U19 women’s team for the upcoming 2025/26 season and will do my freshman College year in engineering here in Germany.
I will still keep my options open for the future and consider transferring to a US university in 2026 as a sophomore.
My name is Soph and I am an American- German freshman in the university here in Germany.
- 2025/2026: Goalkeeper for FC Köln Womens III Team
- 12th grade (2024/25): SPRING 2025: I trained with the FC Köln‘s women’s U19 and U20 teams. FALL 2024: I played the fall season as a goalkeeper with the women's team at SC West Köln in the Mittelrhein (Verbandsliga). I was the only high school student on the women’s team.
- 11th grade (2023/24): I played on 3 teams all year round. I played on Brauweiler Girl’s U17 team (Mittelrheinliga) as starting goalkeeper in both fall and spring seasons. I also played their women's team (Landesliga). In the fall I was the second goalkeeper and played most games in the field, and in spring, I was the starting goalkeeper. I also was the second goalkeeper for Brauweiler’s Boys U17 team and got special permission to be train with and play on the otherwise all-boy team in an all-boy league. I really grew as a player last year playing through these experiences.
- 10th grade (2022/23): I did an exchange year in 2022-2023 in Cedar Springs, Michigan and played for a premier club team in the fall and for the high school in the spring. I was accepted on the Midwest United ECNL team, but my host family didn't support the national travel, so I played for the Cassa Premier team, which was also a good experience! On the high school team, I started out in goal, but we had another good goalkeeper and I was needed in the field, so I switched positions and played center attacking midfield and ended up with the most goals (13) and most assists (13) on the team.
- 9th grade (2021/22): I played for GW Brauweiler U15 Girls Team as goalkeeper and occasionally as center attacking midfielder.
I am an excellent student with a 3.8 GPA on a 4.0 unweighted scale and I scored a 1410 on the SAT (770 Math / 640 English). I would like to major in engineering in college - and of course, I would LOVE to play soccer in college!
So if you are looking for a dedicated, motivated but also social, fun team player, who is willing to work extremely hard and has a huge desire to learn and improve, then I am the goalkeeper you are looking for!!!
