Dear Coaches,
My name is Pilar, a midfielder and a captain of the GD Estoril Praia U19 Team. I have played soccer ever since I was 6 years old, so it has always been a passion of mine.
I suspect it was William Fulbright said that “international education is the best opportunity to turn our ideologies into human aspirations”. I believe that where better to do that than in one of the most competitive universities in women’s soccer.
Although that is one of the reasons why I want to play at university, I suppose that the reason which made me decide to play abroad, and I might be biased, is because my brother also has had the opportunity to play his sport in a US university and all of the stories of his time there inspired me to also pursue this dream.
I’m a team player, social person, I love to cook as well as volunteering.
I am a stronger believer that the academics and athletics combination will help me develop the skills to excel in the future.
