Personal Statement
As a freshman, I had an amazing opportunity to play with and learn from some of the best players in the state on my high school team. However, my sophomore year looked a lot different as our school split into two high schools. As one of only two players who stayed from the previous year, I had a huge leadership role on my team. Although I was only a sophomore, I was named captain, started every game, and played nearly every minute. Unfortunately, I broke my leg halfway through the season, forcing me to accept a new role. I still attended every practice and game to coach and cheer on my teammates. During this time, I learned how fortunate I am to be able to play soccer and I was reminded of how much I love the game. I also learned the importance of leadership, teamwork, and commitment during this challenging season. Because of my leadership and desire to work hard, I believe that I would be a great candidate for your team.
